Arkham Horror: The Card Game fans were thrilled today by the announcement of a new expansion, The Feast of Hemlock Vale, which brings with it 5 new investigators and more importantly, brand new player cards for Minh Thi Phan.

“I wasn’t sure if another new expansion was coming,” said local Arkham player, Xavier DeSouza. “Minh Thi Phan already has so many player cards, after all. I was thrilled to see I was wrong and even more cards are coming. Now, we can make overpowered Minh decks in 2024 but also have them be a little different from the overpowered ones we played in 2023.”

Cards included in the expansion include Chemistry Set, a card that will surely allow Minh to discover additional clues all the goddamn time, and Well-Funded, which we all know is 4 or even 5 Wild icons waiting to happen. On the Survivor side, there is Wrong Place, Right Time which is… wait, are the icons on this thing for real? This is level 0? Uhh because in Grisly Totem Minh, this is like 4 Will or Agility icons. Uh, OK. Sure.

The Feast of Hemlock Vale also includes Kate Winthrop and Hank Samson, who cannot be included in a Minh Thi Phan deck, which is an unfortunate oversight that limits the potential of those otherwise interesting cards. There will also be player cards for other classes so if you are the rare kind of Minh Thi Phan player who has friends, they can also join you on your adventures.

“I’m not saying every card released will be good for Minh. There are certain conditions that a card needs to meet to be strong in her,” DeSouza explained. “For example, it needs to be a Seeker or Survivor card.” DeSouza then stood up and went home as the interview had concluded.

The Feast of Hemlock Vale will be available in early 2024.
