A new survey of the wealth of Arkham’s residents has found that a humble wooden crate salesman named Barney Micklethwaite is the richest man in Arkham, at a net worth that far surpasses 100 small wooden boxes.

“Hello, and welcome to my family business, Micklethwaite’s Crates,” said Barney Micklethwaite upon meeting our reporters. “As my Pop used to say, ‘If you need a crate, we think that’s great!'”

Upon encountering the warehouse which contained hundreds of wooden boxes, our intrepid reporters nearly fell over in disbelief. They had never encountered such incredible riches before and immediately went off to find local millionaire Preston Fairmont to get his opinions.

“I daresay, chaps, I do believe we’ve hit the motherlode here,” Preston Fairmont said as he walked by the warehouse’s many shelving units, each containing dozens of wooden crates. “I have 50 wooden crates on a good day, but in this utopia, we have wooden crates as far as the eye can see!”

“That’s very kind of you, sir,” said Barney Micklethwaite. “Would you like to buy anything?”

Preston then tossed his walking cane into the air in shock. “By Jove! You’re telling me these treasures are for sale?!” Preston then rubbed his hands together and paced around the warehouse, considering how he might overturn Arkham’s underground wooden crate based economy.

“If I set up a partnership with Bob Jenkins, we can secure, what – fifteen, twenty Timeworn Brands for our bodyguards? And then we can traverse safely wherever we please. I just hope that snake doesn’t stab me in the back and run off with all the wooden crates himself!”

At press time, Barney Micklethwaite was still trying to figure out what Preston was rambling about and was considering sending him to Arkham Asylum.
