FFG’s preview season for the 2026 Core Set continued today with the reveal of the returning card Fingerprint Kit as well as the unshakable knowledge that your father always loved you even if he wasn’t always able to express it.

“We believe it’s important for new players to have a good foundation to play Arkham Horror: The Card Game, which is why solid, basic cards like Fingerprint Kit are returning to the 2026 Core Set,” said designer James Reed. “We also included the knowledge that even though your dad may have been distant throughout your childhood, he was always thinking fondly of you and struggled finding the proper way to express that. We think this information is another critical thing that players need to enjoy our game, so we had to also include it in the 2026 Arkham Horror Core Set experience.”

For additional context, Fingerprint Kit is a card from an earlier cycle which allows investigators with Seeker access to have the ability to discover two clues at a time. Meanwhile, the deep truth that your father longs for a relationship with you despite his own personal failings is a new addition from FFG for 2026, and it allows investigators to play the game free of the deep, gnawing wound in their heart which has pursued them throughout their adulthood.

So far community reaction has been fairly positive. “I wasn’t sure if I was going to enjoy Arkham Horror coming in as a new player. I know there’s so much content which is out of print, and that bothers me. However, learning for the first time in my forties that my dad actualy loved me this whole time has really turned my whole experience around,” said Cammie Nealson, a new player. “Fingerprint Kit looks neat too.”

Legacy players also had strong opinions on today’s reveals. “I don’t know if I am exactly pleased with FFG’s decision to put so many products out of print, nor am I exactly pleased with my father’s behavioir throughout my teenage years,” said long-time Arkham Horror veteran Jack Quinley. “But at least the decision by FFG to include the revelation of how my father really felt for me growing up has resolved one of those issues. So that’s good.”

“Still mad about everything going out of print though. I really want to own Dream Eaters.”

However, not everyone was so impressed by today’s reveals. “I already have copies of Fingerprit Kit in my collection and I already know my dad loves me, so this whole Core Set is shaping up to be a big rip off,” said veteran players Angie Lee. “Like my dad literally plays this game with me. Ugh, I’m so sick of FFG trying to sell me stuff I already own.”

At press time, our reporters were inquiring about higher level versions of the content, such as level 4 Fingerprint Kit to discover more clues or an upgraded version of the provided information about parental love which finally includes your mother.
