Exciting news out of FFG’s In-Flight Report for 2026 revealed that not only can players expect a new core set, 5 new starter decks, a new standalone scenario, and a three-scenario campaign, but the Arkham Horror: The Card Game community can also enjoy a fresh new 8 scenario campaign, which has already been set aside, out of play, as a hollow.

The new camapaign, known as The Scarlet Keys 2, is a sequel to the original The Scarlet Keys campaign from 2022. In order to deepen player immersion, the designers took the brilliant step to take every single aspect of the game, from the scenario cards to the components to the rulebook, and set all of them aside, out of play, as a hollow. In this way, players can have the most immersive Arkham Horror: The Card Game experience ever as playing The Scarlet Keys 2 will make investigators feel like they are truly engaging with something that doesn’t exist.

“Between its thrilling blocks of text and easy-to-understand mechanics, it’s no secret why The Scarlet Keys is such a perennial favourite in the Arkham Horror fandom,” said FFG representative, Clark Smythe. “That’s why when designing its sequel, The Scarlet Keys 2, we knew we had to lean in to the much beloved mechanic of taking the player cards you were excited to have in your deck and turning them into hollows. This led to making the most tightly themed campaign yet. By leaning heavily into the themes of non-existence, players can take their favourite investigator decks to a plain, empty table at any time and start enjoying all the fast-paced action of The Scarlet Keys 2.”

Fans who tried out the new campaign were thrilled with some of the new scenarios. “A lot of those older scenarios made me mad. That Buenos Aires one from the original Scarlet Keys really pissed me off,” said local player, Melanie Smith. “But so far, I’ve been sitting here engaging with The Scarlet Keys 2 for an hour or so and I haven’t had to consult the rule book or re-read a scenario card to make sure I understand what the hell is going on even once. Honestly, I feel like this is a huge improvement over the original Scarlet Keys.”

Other changes also received praise from the community. “There’s a lot less reading in The Scarlet Keys 2, and I really enjoy that change,” chimed in Jenna Hunt, another local player. “I also felt like the original Scarlet Keys got a little fiddly with all the small concealed cards. By having no components of any kind at all, The Scarlet Keys 2 is a way more stream-lined experience. Overall, I’ve really been having a great time.”

The Scarlet Keys 2 will not be available for purchase in Q2 2026.
